Unable to prove that she's the missing princess, and unable to bear life under Lady Tremaine any longer, Cinderella starts work at the palace as a seamstress. However, when Cinderella finds herself witness to a grand conspiracy to take the king - and the prince - out of power, she is faced with questions of love and loyalty to the kingdom.
Cinderella must find a way to stop the villains of past and present... before it's too late.
Cinderella finally got her voice and you know what she has some gumption!
The book begins with the ending of the original movie, where she is trapped in the attic by Lady Tremaine. But she isn't saved by her mice friends this time and is unable to try on the glass slipper and gallop off to her happy ending with her prince.
Instead, she has to become resourceful set upon the backdrop of the palace with political intrigue.
We learn more about the Prince's past and his personality and fall in love with him for being his authentic self, rather than a uniform we have previously seen yawning at the ball.
From the bottom of my heart, I really do recommend this book for all the hardcore Disney lovers or for those who like a fairytale retelling with a heart.
This is a book you'll want to read by candlelight like you did as a child.
RATING: **** (FOUR STARS)
